Fuck I love soft serve ice cream.
Instance checks out. :D
I hate you.
I’ve seen the movies you’ve starred in too Mr. Squid, and hold on I’m checking flights to Korea.
That’s your problem. The comic books are always better than the movie.
Too soon. I didn’t need this reminder
The next time someone says advertising doesn’t work, I want you to show them this meme.
Ah, so that’s why I have no idea what this is about.
It’s a godamn status symbol, and it’s a cup. A cup.
A 45-60 dollar cup.
For some reason I assumed it was some game thing and I would have remained ignorant and continued to believe that. Oh well. Their advertising almost didn’t work on me.
I think the reason I’m bitching about it is because it’s made it into my home. My SO’s friend got got by the ads, then gifted a similar cup as a gift (essentially got double got)
But now I gotta look at it multiple times a day
I’m Canadian so I kept thinking it was some hockey joke I’m not into sports enough to understand.
What does Stanley have to do with cups though? They mostly make screwdrivers and wrenches right?
It’s like that restaurant review company who also makes tyres
Or Yamaha Or Hitachi
Buzz buzz ;3
Or that World Record Book that also makes beer.
I don’t believe they are the same company but I could be wrong.
Are they the ones that get your carpet cleaner?
Shitposts getting literal over here.
For girls, you just needed one cup, but for guys, you had to find a farmer so you could see what the goat se.
Real men use jars.
That was nasty.
Well if you were an old married dude, you would just need 1 jar.
What does the goat se? Ring-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding-ding…
Two hands and one ring.
What’s a Stanley? I block ads
A ugly thermo can with a straw and a handle.
Any idea why they become viral? Pure herd mentality/influencer promotions?
They were pushed by some influencers and had somewhat popularity, then some influencer had their car catch fire and their Stanley cup survived, that went very very viral on TikTok.
And now I see generic Stanley like cups being sold in grocery stores. A true staple of virality
absolutely, they also go with the “style” thats popular at the moment. Theyre insanely impractical imo.
Why would you need a handle on an insulated mug,it just makes it uselessly larger.
It has a straw. Idk…
An
I thought a Stanley cup was a hockey thing.
You can block ads but you can’t block people in real life. Walk around and you’re bound to see them.
I’ve literally never seen this before. It’s like mugs for the 50+.
Stanley is a brand that makes things like thermal mugs. They were quality and lasted for years, but weren’t designed with looks in mind. They were favored by tradespeople because they’re hard on stuff and it just works. (I knew them for thermal mugs that held coffee.)
For reasons unknown to me, influencers got a hold of Stanley mugs, with a straw and handle. They became very popular. The company now makes them in many different colors and some people decide to collect them.
Oh, that Stanley. Yea I have a bunch of their tools that I inherited from my dad.
I’ve been on fora and social media for almost 30 years and have managed to avoid ever seeing this video. AMA?
…would you like to?
Same, it’s like the original Star Wars trilogy. I still know everything that happens, somehow, despite never seeing it.
That’s genuinely impressive
Same!
Have you seen reaction vids? Did you enjoy those? Have you seen any other shock videos, like sounding, other weird fetish shit or beheadings or industrial accidents?
Industrial accidents, yes. Some gruesome ISIS stuff, some cartel stuff, yes. But “weird fetish shit”, no
Weird fetish shit is much more palatable than any of the other things than you listed.
palatable
Chronic trend/clout chasing reminds me of Victorian era esoteric fashion rules. Everyone wants to be part of [thing]
Imagine not wearing a corset or a huge-ass skirt lololololol 💅✨
Look at this guy. Drinking out of cups
Not my chair not my problem that’s what I always say
Who paid for this floor?
Mr. Balloon hands. Mr. Balloons for hands.
I miss those days of rotten.com and usenet. I want to go back.
I thought they just had a recall. Better to not have 100 of them. lol
That was a deep cut…
But not a deep cup oddly enough.
Stanley is peepeepoopoo, imo. Know what works? An actually good, functional product.
If you need a good water bottle, get an owala. I’ve had mine for like 4 years. Has a carry handle, push button opening that is protected by the handle so it won’t randomly pop open, pour OR straw-free sip option, comes in a bunch of sizes, etc.
I’m not a shill, I swear. I’m just a random doofus who used to have a problem with dehydration. I DO NOT endorse products lightly, but owala is a fucking winner for me.
Sorry to be negative about your water bottle but I feel like all the recent colorful water bottles are all plastic fashion accessories.
I feel that bottles with paint and complicated parts won’t last as long as simple unpainted bottles like nalgenes.
But hey, if you enjoy your water bottle, embrace it. As long as you’re not buying dozens of them, it is a tool and you should have the best tool for your everyday life.
Hydro flask sells lightweight 40oz that I’ve had for going on 4 years now. I’ve dropped it down a hill and dinged the edge, but it’s the lightest insulated bottle I’ve ever found, and they use a vinyl wrap instead of paint. Still scratches, etc, but the bottle is great. It weighs less full than some of the more ridiculous 40oz bottle do empty.
I watched the entire video. Guy is talking about how water bottles have become nothing more than trendy fashion. Not too much about any design flaws, other than maybe the bottles getting dented.
That said, I got mine before the trend. As an avid water-drinker who has tried many many bottles prior: it’s legitimately a fantastic water bottle! It’s easy as fuck to clean, multiple drinking options, has NEVER popped open in my bag and soaked all my shit, and a bunch of other shit.
I like it. Love it, actually. If more people get them, cool. If they don’t, that’s fine. Seems like the dude is more mad at people hopping on collecting trends. I get that. It’s marketing. Sure. However, that said, it’s a fantastically functional water bottle that I have recommended to anybody who expresses interest in a bottle.
Makes sense, makes sense. Yeah, my only exposure to them is as a trend.
I mean the powder coated metallic ones should last a long time.
“Drinking outta cups… Like a bitch.”
Not my chair, not my problem, that’s what I say.
