What got me was that Ferengi, when originally introduced, were practically completely unknown to federation despite rumor and conjecture. Yet by the time DS9 premiered they’re long established in alpha quadrant economics

I thought it was because they’d received enough backlash from yet another TOS era setting/characters which contradicts canon and finally listened to advance the story into post-NEM territory. Instead they went to ludicrous speed and completely overshot everything.

I watched a few episodes early on but found it to be too boring compared to TNG, which I only casually watched because I was 9-10 at the time.

It wasn’t until I graduated college, spent 6 months searching for a job loving with my parents and Spike TV was just making it’s debut and it started marathoning DS9. Holy forking shirtballs I was pissed I never gave it a solid chance.

I just was forced to listen to a trio of middle aged white women coworkers call Harris a “disaster” and saying Walz admits to having no idea how to use a gun, the couch-fucker was cordial and polite during the debate and that they sometimes financially struggle and that the orange turd would be better for them than Harris/Walz. And one of them said a family of theirs forwarded them a heartfelt email pleading them to read an article about why his 2nd term would be a bad thing for this country and all they did was chide the attempt.

I was guest-DMing. After 1 person hilariously failed a challenge that another player came up with a completely different solution, they were presented with a thick stone door. On the door was 5 markers. On each marker was a different symbol…a flame, a bolt of lightning, a snowflake, skull and another I cant recall maybe a star.

The person who hilariously failed the first challenge kept trying to push the markers with their bare hands, and each time I said “nothing happened”, so she tried a different one, tried pushing it harder, tried pushing 2 at a time, tried hitting it with her weapon, which I asked if it was magical and she said so, then kept trying the same thing over and over again. She kept talking over everyone and I even think she said “this puzzle is stupid”. I was seconds from scream “look at the symbols” when someone took a swing at it with their radiant sword that things started clicking into place in their heads. The dumb one then tried using a level 2 fire spell and I think let out an audible groan.

In advance I made sure all players had cantrips of these particular damage types while building this puzzle and she wants to use a level 2 spell. For reference she’s an OP druid (because she cheats on all her rolls), has a higher AC than our barbarian and more HP than our paladin, yet considers herself “squishy” and stays in the back peaking out behind cover to shoot with a crossbow, and takes it as a personal attack that everyone hates her if any enemy does damage to her.

Did they ever fix the Neptune net from the Typhoon module so it actually…does something? I pulled it off my Typhoon because it either remains still, or will launch behind me and move in the opposite direction
