Maybe we just need a very over-engineered terminal that insults your pitiful attempts at bash
But I already use Warp terminal?
They weren’t laughing, they were naively relieved and thought they dodged a bullet and threw him in jail.
I was watching a video the other day of Rachel Maddow talking about how now that Trump is elected, we will never have a vote again. We will be a Russian puppet state and that all immigrants regardless of status will be deported. I was thinking that’s a possibility and a scary potential future. Then I realized the video was from 2016… and Trump went on to be so ineffective that more immigrants came in than Obama. The only lasting legacy he will have is the Supreme Court, which sucks, but he is too ineffective to do anything other than rant on truth social. He is good at saying things, not doing things.
This is fake, everyone knows arch users are perma-virgins
“Sorry, honey, can’t make it to the birth of our child, trying to debug this arch install”
This is the start of some weird fantasy isn’t it?
They believe if they don’t vote that the democrats will magically transform all of their policies to communist ideology to capture and extra 0.3% of voters at the expense of losing most of their voter base.
It’s funny because the users advocating for communism would be the first useless morons to wind up in work camps.
I really believe the future is going to be Zig + Rust. They both have very promising futures. Production and safety critical software will benefit from Rusts increased memory safety and Zig will be great for bleeding edge performance and drop-in C replacement.
I live somewhere where if you don’t use a room for 15 minutes the spiders immediately take over. I’ve genocided generations of spiders but they keep coming back. I’ve printed out propaganda posters for the other bugs warning them about the dangers of spiders and how they run the banking system.
Interesting comment on the Mac. At my workplace we can choose between Mac or Windows (no Linux option unfortunately, my personal computer runs Debian). Pretty much all the principle and senior devs go for Mac, install vim, and live in the command line, and I do the same. All the windows people seem over reliant on VSCode, AI apps, and a bunch of other apps Unix people just have cli aliases for and vim shortcuts. I had to get a loaner laptop from work for a week and it was windows. Tried using powershell and installing some other CLI tools and after the first day just shut the laptop and didn’t work until I got back from travel and started using my Mac again.
Somehow more lore accurate than Rings of Power

I used to have to use a CI pipeline at work that had over 40 jobs and 8 stages for checking some sql syntax and formatting and also a custom python ETL library that utilized pandas and constantly got OOM errors.
They didn’t write any unit tests because “we can just do that in the CI pipeline” and if you didn’t constantly pull breaking changes into your branch you would guarantee the pipeline would fail, but if you were lucky you only had to restart 30% of your jobs.
It was the most awful thing and killed developer productivity to the point people were leaving the team because it sucks to spend 40% of your time waiting for CI scripts to fail while you are being yelled at to deliver faster.
Most of America doesn’t give a shit about California women’s right to an abortion, or that transgenders should be allowed in whatever bathroom they want, or that Trump is “weird”. They care about “am I better off now than I was last year?” And the answer for a lot of people is “no”. They look at the democrats brag about unemployment rates being low and that is inflation is brought under control, while most of America is still paying $5 for eggs that used to be $2. Everyday middle Americans can no longer afford simple things and their kids are worse off than they are. I know this problem wasn’t wholly created by Biden, Harris, or even Trump, but Americans felt like Harris didn’t care about their plight and that her upper class California woman self was really unrelatable. Then Harris spends a lot time trying to get celebrity endorsements and she is so out of touch that she didn’t realize celebrity endorsements actually lose you votes. People don’t care what Beyonce and Cardi B think about politics, well not the smart people or the people’s vote you actually need.
