As a person living in Scotland I was initially perplexed why this was even a story. I mean, isn’t this what Americans do? Shoot each other all the time?

If the guy that was shot was a bum living out of a dumpster at the back of McDonald’s would this even be a story? And therein lies my initial naivety: this was a CEO of a company ranked 8th on the 2024 Fortune Global 500, and therefore a very important person indeed apparently.

As for the shooter, I haven’t really been following the story, but I guess he was someone who got fucked over by the health insurance company.

To me this is just box standard America: people shooting each other, fat folk eating too much, car chases, wars everywhere, idiots for presidents, corrupt companies. The kind of stuff that’s in every Hollywood movie.

As an outsider looking in, it’s kind of sad yet fascinating watching the most powerful country in the world fall apart.

I think what he’s saying is that if you want to replace the stock Google Android OS on a phone with a more security featured open souce version of Android then there’s plenty of support for doing this with a Pixel… which ironically is engineered by Google, so thus Google reaps the rewards whether you flash it with a new operating system or not.

That said, I just flashed my new Motorola phone with CalyxOS which was easier to do than dealing with all the bullshit of booting up the phone for the first time just to activate developer priveledges in order to flash it.

So far I’m very happy with Calyx. No issues. Some nice security features.

That said, populations do generally increase wherever there’s starvation and hardship. It’s a human instinct to survive by producing more offspring.

The figures of those murdered by Israel is probably closer to 200,000 but we won’t know until the dust settles and Netanyahu is rightfully hanging by the neck for warcrimes.

Most of them are of European or American origin. Correct. The problem could be solved overnight if manufacturers were heavily fined for producing such excessive and unnecessary packaging in the first place. Instead however, here in the UK, it’s the “consumer” who is expected to act like a dancing monkey and sort out all the waste into different categories and dispense the stuff in one of the wheelie bins that keep getting delivered to my door (wheelie bins which are ironically made from plastic). Makes me want to smash up the wheelie bins and dump them in the plastic recycling wheelie bin.
