Catching up on Vampire Survivors updates when solo.
It Takes Two with gf. Really dislike the story, we’re just skipping the cutscenes now. But great diverse gameplay and visual setpieces.
Gonna start Darksiders Genesis with a friend this weekend now that our run through Quake II remastered is done. I liked Quake II 64 (lol) the most out of the lot tbh. The levels were way less confusing. The Nightdive-made DLC was also great.
Witcher 2 yay, Witcher 1 nay. IMO, the first one really didn‘t age well. It‘s been too long to remember the specifics but what I do remember is me dealing with the gameplay and visuals for the story‘s sake. The second game I started up and was awed by the visuals, the gameplay was much better too. Insane step forward. Again though, it‘s been many, many years so it‘s a blur now.
Quake II remaster (?) by Nightdive in co-op with a friend. It‘s alright. I see it more as a video game history course, everything kinda looks the same so it hasn’t held up too well IMO, but it‘s a good time in co-op. And thank God they built in a navigation system lol
I‘m probably even downplaying it, my friend ragequit from the frequency of crashes lol
Maybe Magicka 2 is the better starting point, but I wouldn‘t know since after my experience with Magicka, I didn‘t wanna touch it

Fair warning that when I played it with a friend (two-ish years ago), it was broken and abandoned. Couldn‘t play in co-op for more than 30 minutes without a disconnect, some DLCs didn‘t even start, singleplayer you had to downgrade to an older version or else it crashes every so often. Every loading screen had me praying the game doesn‘t poop the bed. It was probably fun at some point, but it needs engineering attention and hadn‘t gotten that in years when I last tried it.
I think NFS Heat is great nowadays. It holds up well and runs well. Dirt cheap as well. As in all racing games, I skipped the story tho lol; those are a waste of time and resources IMO

DiRT 5 has the most terrible driving in any racing game I‘ve ever played. It‘s an HDR wonderland but that‘s about it. My least liked racing game in my library.
Fair warning to anyone who is like me and suffers from moderate motion sickness: Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom will whoop your ass, play the demo (I think there was one) first and see if you can last 30 minutes. The game‘s fun and all but it‘s not fun to get nausea and a headache.
Distance is amazing. Heard about that game on here first actually and it was a great find.
Still waiting to be able to play it in all its glory at 60 fps lol
Pokemon USUM. If there was a looped version of the tracks, I‘d probably listen to it every day lol, it just boosts my mood. Sadly, the soundtrack (that I have) has them at 1-2 minutes.
I wanted to get away from the longsword in Rise but somehow I always gravitate towards it… Wilds is a blast, I hope they get their shit together in the next four months.

Monster Hunter Rise to have a MH fix until Wilds runs at more than 30 fps
Unlock The King: Cheap, simple puzzler that uses chess pieces and how they‘re allowed to move, but otherwise has nothing in common with actuall chess. Recommended.
Orcs Must Die! 3: Comic-y 3rd person tower defense game (here: traps) that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I was a big fan of OMD2 and thought 3 was their weird pvp game called Unchained or whatever, so this one went completely past me and now I get to play a complete and new (to me) OMD for cheap! Recommended.
Potion Permit: Harvest Moon but you’re making potions instead. The pixel art is absolutely amazing. The game feels a bit too small and has weird technical issues (stutter, sudden increase in CPU load or controller input crapping itself until you restart), but it‘s still fun af. Recommended.
Fields of Mistria: Early Access Harvest Moon clone in Gameboy Color style. It may be Early Access, but it runs smooth, I‘ve experienced zero bugs and after ten hours I‘m not even in my first fall. It‘s already well worth a buy. Recommended.
Stardew, trying to get that 100% thingy
I actually have not played the original which is why I was interested in playing the remaster since it‘s such a classic. I ended up liking the Nightdive-made DLC maps and the N64 port the most tbh.
