I guess, but the link says Hexbear… is this instance just a proxy for Hexbear to spread their authoritarian propaganda?

Because the Fediverse is a great target for propaganda, which is invaluable for some authoritarian countries.

Lemmy is an echochamber with relatively limited, uncoordinated moderation. 1,000,000+ monthly active users, and lemmy.ml is a flagship instance.

It’s a bummer. I love the idea of the Fediverse but it’s having some propaganda growing pains.

Hard disagree, they’re here and able to operate relatively freely with no central admin fighting disinformation.
