“Okay, do you have an alternative, or are you just gonna whine? Eat up!”

They probably did this specifically because people were upvoting our favorite plumber.
Can you clarify? Are you calling CGP a grifter, or did he just make a wrong prediction?
click on a post about a PCC comic
Because they’re not all bad comics and I thought this one was kinda funny, so I wanted to read the comments.
read through the comments and pick the one comment that was rage bait to respond to
You mean the really highly downvoted person saying they downvoted the post? I didn’t reply to them. I replied to the person asking a simple question.
provide a low effort “explanation” about why anyone should hate PCC with examples of the artist “retaliating” against her outspoken critics
What, did you expect me to write an essay on the subject?
not only that, you continue to return again and again to defend your position on an artist you claim you don’t care about
I wouldn’t be on forums like this at all if I wasn’t bored. Are you frustrated that by continuing to reply, I’ve prevented you from getting the last word in?
give me a third option here, I’m not seeing a lot of other ways to view you right now.
I’m someone that used to like Pizzacake’s comics and gradually went from excited when I recognized the art style in my feed to annoyed that it was probably going to be another comic without a real punchline, eventually just blocking her account entirely to stop it from showing up.
What exactly are you hoping to achieve here? I know why I’m here (boredom), but what are you trying to get me to say that would satisfy you? From my perspective, you seem to be attempting to manufacture bigotry where there is none so you can feel righteous indignation and have an enemy to tear down.
I haven’t spoken about PCC in, possibly, multiple years. I only posted because I was answering someone’s question.
did you guys ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, the reason why she makes fun of you is because you keep coming back with more hate?
Well, she’s not making fun of me because I don’t leave those kinds of comments on her posts, but yeah, this is literally what I just said she was doing. It’s called rage-baiting and it’s going really well for her because the popularity she gains from it translates to Patreon memberships.
you see pizzacake and you just get filled with so much raw emotion you can’t control yourself and lash out like a child only to be driven to attack…a comic artist…
If by raw emotion you mean mild disappointment at the lack of a punchline, sure.
Just spitballing here, but it seems like you’re trying to turn me into something I’m not so that you have a target to spew hatred on. I’m not one of those people raging in the comments about “trans bad, me angry!11!” that I’m sure you love to hurl insults at on Reddit. I’m just someone that doesn’t like comics that I don’t find humorous.
This comment has most of what I would say to reply to you, so I’m linking it. Could you point out exactly what I’ve said so far that led you to believe that I’m biased against PCC because she’s an artist or a woman?
Yep, if they’re funny to you, then good for you. I’m not trying to claim that she’s objectively bad or anything like that. I’m just explaining why a lot of people don’t like her.
She used to be pretty funny years ago, before she started focusing on hating her haters instead of making actual funny stuff. She started doing things like making a comic she knew would piss off some bigots in the comments, then making another comic (or a few) making fun of the people that hated on her to farm karma from the people who saw the original comic. Some people like that. It’s just a bit too toxic for me. I blocked her account a long time ago, so idk what she’s making these days.
Some people don’t like her because she makes a lot of comics that are like, “Haha, I have portrayed myself as the chad and you as the wojak, therefore I am superior!” Without having any actual comedic value. Example 1, Example 2 (both are reddit links, you have been warned).
She also threatened r/bonehurtingjuice with legal action to make them ban remixes of her comics, something not even Stonetoss (the Nazi comic everyone hates) has done.
I don’t have a problem with games creating their own models trained only on things they created. I believe charging money for anything using assets generated by a model trained on data they didn’t have the rights to should be illegal. If a model is trained on data that they do own the the rights to, but didn’t create, that’s a weird gray area where I think it shouldn’t be illegal to sell its results, but you should have to disclose that you used it.
I like to use AI autocomplete when programming not because it solves problems for me (it fucking sucks at that if you’re not a beginner), but because it’s good at literally just guessing what I want to do next so I don’t have to type it out. If I do something to the X coordinate, I probably want to do the same/similar thing to the Y and Z coordinates and AI’s really good at picking up that sort of thing.
To me, what makes the difference is whether or not it’s trained on other people’s shit. The distinction between AI and an algorithm is pretty arbitrary, but I wouldn’t consider, for example, procedural generation via the wave function collapse algorithm to have the same moral implications as selling something using what most people would call AI-generated content.
Democracy is dead in the digital age. It’s a non-functional and corrupt system incapable of representing or addressing the majority’s actual needs properly. The US has fallen before many European democracies, but they will crumble under the weight of AI-powered digital disinformation and manipulation too.
It should be illegal to revoke or modify people’s purchases. All games should be able to be kept and played using the version you bought it at except maybe MMOs due to technical reasons. Forced updates and DRM need to be outlawed.
What?
Could a state order all businesses operating in that state to stop paying taxes?
That would mean that the corporations basically paid people’s taxes for them, right? Wouldn’t that just get factored into salaries?
I guess it would, at most, only work with people who get paid from the same state.
This is the answer I was looking for. Thanks! A simple “no” wasn’t very informative.
It literally costs them money to make YouTube worse so that you can pay them to make it better again. NewPipe go brrrrrr
