Game Boy Advance is probably one of the best handhelds. I totally agree on the PS1 - not quite sure if the Xbox 360 hits that threshold for me, though.

I was going to say: “Sierra Leone: more progressive than most US states”
Work (when at work - for not work stuff on my phone 😈) and agree with the rest
Is that an I/O shield for a motherboard?
I’d love for there to just be more short games with branching narratives like WotS. Short games that are built to be replayed really spark something off in my brain lol.
I’m surprised with auto battler games having a moment that we haven’t gotten any Ogre Battle inspired indies - just Unicorn Overlord. Still haven’t played it, but it’s on my to-do list.
A shit candy bar, some random tube socks, and off-brand hair growth meds
Some kind of random stuff from the drug store or discount store. Just a “I put minimal expense and effort into getting this.”
I think “selling ice to Eskimos” is the American equivalent. Naturally, the version of this phrase: 1) involves an exonym that’s a bit offensive 2) kinda makes doing a pointless exercise sound like a good thing.
Not a childhood game, but the Japan-only SNES strategy RPG Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War is a great handheld emulator game! There’s English patches for it.
Some random games from the mid 90s and earlier that I enjoyed when I was younger:
PS1: Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy 9, Lego Racing
SNES: Final Fantasy 4, Super Mario World
GBA (not of this era, but they’ll probably run on your Anbernic): Fire Emblem (any of the GBA games, but Blazing Blade aka just Fire Emblem is a great starting point), Metroid Fusion
GBC: Link’s Awakening DX
Edit: GB: Donkey Kong 94
