but now we have a scapegoat
but now we have a scapegoat
I totally agree this isn’t a easy fix and it will take decades to change but I feel that should be a challenge for the US to start making the change not a reason to keep the status quo.
I mean, if we genuinely had a significant amount of local, state and federal law makers that cared about protecting their constituents instead of whatever the fuck they are doing now, we could have some accountability.
What frustrates me is there doesn’t seem to be anyone in a position to promote change to this problem that is really talking about it. They may pay it lip service but nothing beyond that.
Because to many people politics is a team sport - their team is always right the opposing team is always wrong.
So if the refs call a foul on their team then it was a bullshit call, but on the other team then it was fair.
I was thinking of appealing my parking ticket to the Supreme Court by using the defense that the officer that issued the ticket did it to keep me from voting and … uh … freedom.
Yes. but those people that lose their jobs wouldn’t have to stress about either paying for or using healthcare - This freedom can give many people the opportunity to do something they love (or like to do). Maybe that is starting a new business or creating a new product? Or they could go work in a different industry that they find more fulfilling where previous they couldn’t because of the lack of health benefits.
I think in the long run the people that lose their job grinding away in a huge faceless health insurance job might actually be a good thing for them?

A true “Patriot” would follow the trail of the filter. Where did the raw materials come from for the filter? where was it manufactured? how was it shipped to the store? Who put it on the shelf? If a dirty librul ever touched it then it can’t be certified as “non-woke”
I think the way you need to do it is The Onion style of journalism, with a wink and a nod. BUT when your crazy ass right wing theories get shared as “FACTS” on other social media sites you don’t dispute it. I kinda think that is how most right wing YouTubers do it.
If the system was working as it should congress can impeach him. But that’s not going to happen we know that he knows that.
I also think that he is using this GOP congressional firewall to keep doing it because why not?

I’ve got nothing to add other than, Alex Jones is a big piece of shit
Holy shit those pictures just pissed me off again.
I’m a little biased but I do look down on men that lack any handyman skills
That is a lot biased to the point that you can’t even see that other men’s lives may have put them in a position of not learning those things or even wanting to learn those things. It’s great that you know how to do those things but just because someone has a penis doesn’t mean they have to learn how to be handy. That doesn’t make them any less of a man, just different from you.
I get allowing former felons to run for office - they served time that society said was their punishment. They are done with it.
But a law that bans a felon that has not completed their punishment is a different story.
That is true it is a big part of society and how to get along, and you would think that because this is one of the foundations of this society it would be a bigger part of someone’s education. This shouldn’t be something people should have to figure out on their own in order to feed themselves and their family
One semester of Schmooze 101 could go along way in helping an awkward yet brilliant scientist get the funding they need.
I do appreciate posts like those.
My objective when I look through a comment thread, especially in a topic I don’t know much about, I’m looking for the well reasoned posts. I admit I’m a human (confirmed via captchas) and love to have my opinions validated, but I also like to read a different take on a situation or issue. And because I am not in a situation where I don’t feel like I have to defend my opinion I’m more open to seeing a different perspective.
So thank you for taking the time to write those out - and to others that do that thank you as well.
It would be cool if a private citizen or two set up tables around Idaho towns and just gave away these banned books to anyone that wanted them. The fear is those people that follow the teaching of a peace loving hippie that lived 2000 years ago would probably beat them up and threaten to kill them.
