That person wasn’t complaining about the hush money, they were complaining about a corrupt court system, that bends the law in extreme ways, to let their appointer commit crimes without consequences.
If Fox had a time machine, I bet money they wouldn’t do the Dominion thing again. They lost over 1/5th of their cash on hand when that whole thing was settled.
Hunter Biden will be different though. That’s not as clear cut as the Dominion case, and Biden isn’t going to be able to say that he lost billions in sales because of their bullshit. They will have made more money off Hunter Biden than they spent - if they have to pay him out.

IMHO, the only reason she’s “polarizing” is because the right has chosen to run a smear campaign on her. People like her are a threat to them. She’s young, smart, and charming. She’s like Obama once was, only she’s even younger than he was. She’s still a year too young to run.
To be fair, they were at all time highs before Biden’s administrative action. GOP is still going to be complaining about the border regardless, but the documented numbers were pretty high.

IMHO, that Eastland article’s last paragraph explains why people know about the Titanic. It was a bit glitzy boat full of important and influential rich folks. One of the world’s richest men died on that boat.
The Eastland was just a bunch of normal Joes. And just like today, the rich got much more attention.

Problem is, the lower information voters don’t know that Trump is lying, and Biden couldn’t point that out in a clear and concise way. He was soft and rambling and wasn’t campaigning competently on that stage.
He needed to make the case against Trump. Which isn’t hard.
What will happen is that no regulations will get passed, or they’ll continue ask their special interest to write laws for themselves because Congress is too busy to do law making. Ugh.

At least with abortion bans, people could see the direct impact and that could motivate voter turnout. This will be a decision that many voters won’t easily recognize as the cause of the corruption and injustice they will be feeling. A lot of people are going to get hurt, and they’re not going to know the real reason behind it.

In the case of CA, these people are going to be given in shelter beds. (I know, it sounds counterintuitive to the ruling.)
The main reason CA brought the case is because they aren’t allowed force portions of their unhoused populations indoors. They can’t move a segment of the population unless there is enough space for the entire population.
So, if a county had beds for half of the unhoused population, and it wanted to bring half of them indoors, it couldn’t. It could only make moves once it had beds for all.
I’m sure some place will be shitty and will just throw people in jail, but the big west cost cities have a lot of unfilled shelter beds that they would like to fill.
And all that being said, a lot of these unhoused people are avoiding shelters for a reason. Being on the street is actually preferable to what people experience in some shelters. So, as much as Newsom will tell you that he wants to be compassionate and give people a bed, he’s not telling you that bed is next to a psycho that’s going to scream all night then assault someone.
People talk about Biden all the damn time when Trump’s court corruption comes up. If I had a dollar for every time I saw a thread about Biden changing the court via packing or using the “official act” ruling, I’d be a rich man.
People aren’t getting grumpy at you because you’re bringing up Biden, they’re getting grumpy because you want to start talking about Gaza in court corruption comment thread.
Lemmy’s got noooo shortage of Gaza articles with comments that shit on the current president’s policies. And yes, since this is an election year, they also talk about his opponent’s policies in the region. That guy is winning in the polls and has policies that would be even worse for civilian deaths in that area. Those of us that care about saving civilian lives want to reduce military aid, not double down.
