Yup. You guys have got it nailed down! It’s the “backwoods country hicks” (you know, the people you constantly blame for everything) that hire illegal immigrants to maintain their pristine manicured suburban lawns.

Totally not the city suburbanites that the Harris campaign said would be their path to victory. Totally not the people who simp for their HOAs. Totally not the people who are just too darn important in their own careers to sink low enough to do their own lawn maintenance (they have to save their soft pillowy hands for their keyboards!) Not them at all!

It’s those darn “country bumpkins” that hire illegals to mow their lawns!

I didn’t say anything about not allowing representation.

Honestly, my main gripe here is that an intensely emotional scene that is held in such high regard because of the story and context, has been cheapened by adding a sociopolitical slant to it! This moment (which I know does not occur in the book the same way), is about the Mighty King Aragorn, facing his death willingly in service of his friend Frodo.

That’s it and that’s all. In the context it’s a powerful moment that makes ALL PEOPLE (except maybe sociopaths) feel a sense of honor and comradery for two beloved characters.

It’s not a fucking allegory for “kids who haven’t even hit puberty yet should be allowed to transition!!”

Please feel free to create any new story of any kind that represents absolutely every subgroup of person who feels marginalized! (it would have to be a 30 season slog with incessant infighting about which group is more marginalized and thus deserves more representation than the others).

But then, of course, nobody would watch it (or at least not enough people to warrant a production company spending so much money on such a project) So, we start the cycle over and the trans movement once again has to pirate another big name IP to feel “really seen” (aka, LOOK AT ME!!!)

I’m sorry to have to break the news here, but the trans community makes up 1.14% of the population of the US!

I think, considering this data, that it is OVER represented in modern culture!

  • Because you guys all fall in line with whatever they say. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

So yeah, Democrats ARE the DNC.

I mean, folks on this site automatically label anyone who says they are Republican, conservative, or even just take issue with one single thing about the Democratic nominee as “racist, misogynist, xenophobic Nazi MAGA pieces of dog shit that deserve death”

I think you guys got the easier end of the bargain.

Just as an aside: I find it a bit funny that you used the “pawn” example with not one hint of irony.

  • But the President doesn’t dictate much of anything (as much as the media salivates at the idea), our representatives in Congress do. The President appoints Judges and can veto bills.

Our country is built on representation of districts and states, so voting for President is also built around representation of districts and states. Not the ideas of the majority. That is reserved for districts and states. The country is physically huge and all 333 million of us don’t live in similar situations economically, environmentally, ethnically, culturally, etc. So we vote based on our local circumstances and (at that level) it is a majority rule. That’s why you can have some states that are much more socialist than others. Or some states that are much more conservative than others. And we as individuals have the freedom and responsibility to make change we would like to see at that level, or we have the freedom of movement between those areas.

I didn’t think I would need to do a basic civics lesson today.
