It feels like the media are trying to encourage sympathy from the masses, but all I see is a monster who let hundreds of thousands die and/or suffer from crippling ailments for profit.

Well, the judicial process is a lot slower than our desire for change. Events take weeks or months. Also, I’m sure the prosecution wants to give it time to die down. Hoping that the jury will soften up. If it were to be tried today, he has significantly more chance of winning.
