Bad writing, generally where the politics takes precedence over the story.

See this clearly isn’t the actual meaning because this definition only applies to fiction. See, for example, Conservative party former Home Secretary of the UK Suella Braverman describing protestors opposing her anti-protest bill as the “tofu-eating wokerati”

      confused unga bunga

Setting aside the fact that that only works for movies, how do you define “politics”? Wouldn’t have anything to do with having non-white, non-male characters now would it?

Care to take another shot at defining “woke”? I know you’re literally incapable of it, but it’d be fun to see you try.

        Okay, definitions are hard.

How abour “subjectively bad writing, typically prioritizing a dubious moral or message over the story”

Does that work better? Woke is a subjective thing, and like a lot of slang, it means different things to different people.

Still misses that “woke” is used to describe things without any relevance to writing.

For example: my office recently changing 1 bathroom per floor to “any gender” was woke according to certain coworkers. What’s that got to do with story?
