Honestly, Calvin going full furry as an adult wouldn’t be too strange a twist.
When Calvin says “I seem to be cursed with a thin beard”, does that imply that he would prefer to have no beard, or that he would prefer to have a thick beard?
The context is that he wants to have fur and whiskers.
He’s a child so he actually has no beard, but he’s doing damage control and pretending it is merely thin, rather than the thick tiger fur-like beard he wants.
